Puppy Skills for Life

Great class for your puppy of any age...

This course is for puppies or young dogs that are just starting their training.

We have a maximum of 6 puppies per class and at least two qualified trainers will be present during each session which means we can give you and your dog our utmost attention.

The course will teach you how to recognise and develop the skills your puppy will need to live happily in our human world, with all the variety life throws at us.

You’ll learn fun ways to teach your puppy basic behaviours such as sit, lie down, come back when called and to walk on a loose lead. You’ll also learn how to make use of the many opportunities you have during the day to influence the choices your puppy makes and through a series of games, develop your dog’s personality and ability to choose to make the right decision.  Puppies,  like us, are always learning and making decisions. So, in giving you the knowledge to develop your puppy’s skills through developing the skills needed for the real world, your partnership with your pup will go from strength to strength – there is no limit!

The cost of this 6-week course is £100 and includes a welcome pack containing a Progressing Partnerships notebook and pen, access to our online school via Teachable, a number of e-books to give you plenty of hints and tips, access to a Facebook support group and files for you to print out and use between classes.

You are welcome to come along and watch any of our classes before booking, but please let us know in advance so that we can allow time to speak to you after the class.

Progressing Skills for Life

Building on those skills further...

This course is open to any dog that has completed the Puppy Skills for Life or Adult Skills for Life class.

We have a maximum of 6 dogs per class and two qualified trainers will be present during each session which means we can give you and your dog our utmost attention.

This course teaches you to recognise which skills are needed to give your dog the ability to deal with a number of real-life scenarios.

Educational theorist, Thomas Carruthers said, “A teacher is one who makes him/herself progressively unnecessary”.

At Progressing Partnerships, we aim to teach you the skills you need to recognise what you need to do to prepare your dog for the real-world rather than just teaching you traditional training exercises.  During this course we will introduce 3 minute game-changers that you can apply to your everyday life that have been proven to improve the relationship between you and your dog and to guide him through adolescence.

The cost of this 6-week course is £100 and includes access to our online school via Teachable and a number of e-books for you to download.

You are welcome to come along and watch any of our classes before booking, but please let us know in advance so that we can allow time to speak to you after the class.

Fit, Fun & Games

This class is ONLY open to handlers that have completed the Perfecting Skills for Life class.

Classes are held on Tuesday afternoons and Saturday mornings. We have a maximum of 6 dogs per class.

This course encourages lifelong canine health through exercise and incorporates a mixture of canine fitness training, Rally O, Hoopers, scentwork and concept games.

Based on the guidelines of the FitPAWS Master Trainer Programme developed in conjunction with the Certified Canine Fitness Trainer qualification regulated by the University of Tennessee, we will teach you to analyse your dog’s gait and form which will enable you to detect any minor discomfort or lameness.

We will assess each dog’s fitness and you will observe the gait and form of each dog as they undergo a physical assessment at the beginning of the course.

We will then work to improve your dog’s technique to develop good form. These exercises will improve core strength and stability which will prevent injury, assist with weight loss and improve muscle tone. The exercises are suitable for all dogs from puppy, pet, performance to seniors and includes pets that are recovering from injury or have degenerative conditions (under veterinary referral).

Training with the highest qualified canine personal fitness trainer in the area, gives you the confidence that the fitness programmes will improve your dog’s total health by including exercises to improve flexibility, strength, balance, cardiovascular and mental fitness.

We will incorporate Talking Dogs™ Rally O exercises and scentwork to improve mental fitness; Hoopers agility and treiball to give them a fun cardiovascular workout and games to help your dog make the right choices in life which will help to shape his personality and enable him to reach his full potential.

You can pay per class or you can buy a package of classes.
