Gun Dogs & Games

We have a maximum of 8 dogs per class.  1-2-1 sessions can also be booked.

Gundog training is becoming increasingly popular and enables you to enhance your partnership by allowing your dog to use his natural skills to spice up your walks.

We use clicker training and concept games to teach hunting, retrieve, drop to flush (perfect to stop predatory chase behaviours developing), directional work at a distance, recall and stop with a whistle and steadiness (calmness, self-control and frustration tolerance).

The cost of this 4-week course is £100 and includes an acme gundog whistle, lanyard and access to a Facebook support group.

Rally-O

For handlers that have completed the Introduction to Rally-O workshop or a 121 training session.

Classes are held on Saturday mornings at 10am. We have a maximum of 8 dogs per class.

With an emphasis on the rules, regulations and stations included in Talking Dogs™ Rally, students will also learn the variations and be able to compete in either Talking Dogs™ or The Kennel Club Rally competitions (subject to registration).

Competing in this all inclusive sport is great fun but, not a requirement. Rally-O exercises promote a great relationship and teamwork between dog and handler and build on the concepts of proximity (value in being close to the handler), listening, focus, engagement, disengagement from the environment, confidence and optimism. Students also report a marked improvement in loose lead walking skills.
