Now I like science-backed medicine, but that doesn't mean I use natural remedies for myself or my pets!

With information on social media, many people are anti-vaccination, wormer, flea treatment. I just cannot balance the risk of Leptosporosis and this year I will have the L4 vaccine for the first time in all 16 of my dogs. I am lucky that my vet supplied L2 until it was discontinued this year. There isn't a nosode for Lepto, but I need to know my dogs are covered as we have so many rats here.

A nosode to protect my dogs against Kennel Cough is a really attractive idea!

But where do I get the nosodes from? How do I know that they are genuine? How much do I give? ..........so many questions and so few answers!

At Progressing Partnerships, we aim to educate and empower you to advocate for your beloved pet and we feel giving you the answers to some of these questions is necessary, if it's something you are interested in.

Naturopathy, complementary therapies and alternative therapies should never replace tradition veterinary medicine and only a Veterinary Surgeon who knows your dog is legally authorised to diagnose conditions and prescribe drugs to your dog. BUT there are some really good naturopaths that can help your dog alongside your vet.

We are lucky to have Dawn Waterhouse living relatively close to us at Brightlingsea in Essex and she has agreed to come along and run a workshop for us.

Dawn Waterhouse FCCA LCH RMANM RSHom is a Homeopath and Naturpath who has been running her own clinic for over 25 years. She has owned dogs all her life and treats them naturally herself. Dawn also receives veterinary referrals to treat dogs naturally.

In her workshop, Dawn will discuss the Use of Homeopathy in Dogs and explore how to use remedies to treat a wide range of health issues including First Aid, Fears and Phobias, Travel Sickness, Whelping, Allergies, Joint Health, Ear Infections, Tummy upsets and more.

The workshop will be held at the Dog Training Centre on Saturday 4 October 2025 from 11am to 3pm - please bring a packed lunch as we will break for a short tea / lunch break mid way through. Tea and Coffee will be available all day.

At the end of the workshop you will recieve a handout of the day and a mini remedy of Arnica (with information how to use it). Dawn will have some kits available to buy on the day.

The cost of the workshop is £40 .
